Douglas: Sao Paulo defender has signed a five-year deal with Barcelona
Barcelona have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Douglas, the club have announced.
The 24-year-old signed a five-year deal on Friday after a 4million euros (£3.2m) move from Sao Paulo. The fee could rise to 5.5million euros (£4.4m) depending on the number of games he plays.
The deal was agreed earlier this week and, after passing a medical, Douglas was able to put pen to paper.
The Catalan club face a FIFA-imposed transfer embargo for the next two windows, which they are appealing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but are allowed to bring players in this summer.
