York City vs Wycombe Wanderers preview - Minstermen may opt for changes

York boss Nigel Worthington could be tempted into one or two changes as his side chase their first win of the season against Wycombe.

Centre-half John McCombe is pushing for a recall after making way for summer signing Dave Winfield in last week's draw at Exeter and winger Lindon Meikle is hoping to return to the starting line-up after illness restricted him to bench duty.

Striker Ryan Jarvis (ankle) and midfielder Josh Carson (knee) remain sidelined, while 16-year-old striker Ben Hirst is likely to retain his place in Worthington's matchday squad.

The Minstermen, who have drawn all four league games this season, are unbeaten in a regular league fixture at Bootham Crescent since January.

In-form Wycombe have no fresh injury worries as they look to continue their impressive start to the season.

Three wins from their opening four League Two games has seen Gareth Ainsworth's men climb to fifth in the table and the manager has plenty of options for the trip.

Stuart Lewis made his return from a pre-season injury in Saturday's 3-1 win at Stevenage and will be looking to start after playing the final 16 minutes while Josh Scowen could also make a comeback.

Defender Gary Doherty will definitely miss out once again.
