MARIO BALOTELLI has proved to Liverpool fans he knows all about the city's culture and history – by posting this hilarious picture.

The Italian striker, who joined the Reds for £16m, posted on Instagram a picture of his face photoshopped onto an iconic picture of The Beatles.

But instead of John, Paul, George and Ringo though the photo became Mario, Mario, Mario and Mario.

The eccentric Italian watched from the stands as his new side crashed to a 3-1 defeat to his former club Manchester City on Monday.

And Super Mario could make his debut for Brendan Rodgers' side on Sunday against Tottenham at White Hart Lane.

"I think by the weekend he'll be ready to feature," Rodgers said.

"He's been into pre-season and he's played three 45-minute games. He might not be up to full match speed, but he's looking fit.

"We've done some analysis on him. The medical and sports science team have worked with him already and he's in very, very good condition.

"He's in to work and he'll be available for the squad for the weekend."

New team-mate Jordan Henderson believes the 24-year-old striker can give the team a boost.

He said: "I think everybody is looking forward to working with him.

"He is a very talented player and a very big player coming into the club.

"Hopefully he can give us a big lift and play some part in the next game."
