Borussia Dortmund 0 : 2 Bayer Leverkusen - Record-breaking Bayer stun Dortmund

Karim Bellarabi scored the quickest goal in Bundesliga history and then set up another for Stefan Kiessling as Bayer Leverkusen stunned hosts Borussia Dortmund with a 2-0 win on Saturday evening.

Bellarabi struck after only nine seconds, beating the previous quickest goals scored by Giovane Elber and Ulf Kirsten by two seconds to leave the Westfalenstadion shellshocked.

He then teed up Kiessling for the second deep into second-half stoppage time with Leverkusen proving to be good value for their win in Roger Schmidt's first game in charge.

The visitors made their intentions clear right from kick-off with the ball reaching Bellarabi via Hakan Calhanoglu and Son Heung-min, and at full stretch he was able to guide his effort inside Mitchell Langerak's near post.

Only nine seconds were on the clock and most of the fans had not even taken their seats.

It was a sign of what was to come with Leverkusen seeming like they were the home team for much of the match.

Langerak was the busier of the two goalkeepers as Dortmund struggled to feed their fearsome forward trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Ciro Immobile.

The latter, a summer signing from Torino expected to fill the boots of Robert Lewandowski, found himself struggling in particular to make any impression on the game while the seasoned striker Kiessling at the other end was proving a constant thorn in Dortmund's side.

Bellarabi almost stunned Dortmund again early in the second half before Son had his shot blocked with Leverkusen continuing to attack.

The hosts tried to respond, but a tactically astute Leverkusen sat back and soaked up the pressure.

Bernd Leno was only called into action late on in the game, and as Dortmund committed men forward, Leverkusen broke with Bellarabi sending Kiessling through to beat Langerak with a shot into the top right-hand corner.
