Yeovil Town 1 : 1 Scunthorpe United - Madden punishes Yeovil on return

Paddy Madden returned to haunt Yeovil as his late goal earned Scunthorpe a 1-1 draw at Huish Park.

Madden, whose 23 goals were instrumental in the Glovers' promotion-winning campaign of two years ago, poked home past Chris Weale with seven minutes remaining to cancel out Kieffer Moore's opener and ensure a share of the spoils.

Both sides had chances to win it in the closing stages, as Weale rushed out to smother Scunthorpe substitute Hakeeb Adelakun's attempted lob, before Sam Hoskins headed over for Yeovil with the goal gaping.

The Glovers will go home the more disappointed of the two sides, having dominated possession for large parts of the game.

Scunthorpe keeper Bobby Olejnik was called into action three times in the first half, saving well from AJ Leitch-Smith before twice denying Kevin Dawson.

But Yeovil had to wait until shortly after the hour mark to break the deadlock, when Moore, who had only been on the field for two minutes latched onto Sam Foley's low cross to cannon in off the crossbar from six yards out.

And the Glovers were made to pay for their wasted earlier chances when Madden found the net late on to give the Iron their first point of the season.
