FORMER Chelsea captain Marcel Desailly is under investigation by French tax authorities.

The Swiss government revealed the inquiry after asking for French assistance in relation to assets at a branch of Swiss bank UBS.
It is not yet clear whether the World Cup winner, who also played for Marseille and AC Milan, has done anything illegal or is simply the subject of a normal inquiry.
Desailly's former international teammates Claude Makelele and Patrick Vieira have both faced probes in recent years.
Like Desailly, Swiss officials refused to comment on whether Vieira or Makelele had carried out any wrongdoing.
The 45-year-old was one of the world's best defenders during his pomp and was a key figure as France won the 1998 World Cup and the 2000 European Championships.
He retired in 2006 and has since worked as a pundit on both British and French TV.
