Wycombe vs Tranmere preview - Ainsworth could stick

Wycombe could name an unchanged line-up once again as they look to continue their impressive start to the season when they tackle Tranmere.

Gareth Ainsworth kept the faith with the same 11 that beat Newport and narrowly lost to Millwall as his Chairboys comfortably saw off Carlisle on Saturday and he looks set to keep the faith with a settled line-up.

Midfielder duo Stuart Lewis and Josh Scowen are yet to feature this season but are close to a first-team return and could be involved in the squad.

But experienced centre-back Gary Doherty will miss out once more.

Tranmere boss Rob Edwards has plenty of injury concerns as he bids to secure the first win of his managerial career.

The rookie boss came within minutes of tasting victory on Saturday, only to see Shrewsbury score twice late on in a 2-1 defeat, and Edwards' problems continue to mount up with Danny Holmes and Abdulai Baggie picking up injuries that leave them racing to be fit to face the Chairboys.

Captain Marcus Holness (hamstring) has not featured since the opening day of the season while full-back Liam Ridehalgh is still working his way back from a pre-season ankle injury.

Edwards acquired Janoi Donacien on loan from Aston Villa on Monday to ease his defensive headaches, while Clayton McDonald was released after making his solitary appearance on Saturday.
