Coventry vs Barnsley preview - Jackson debut delayed

Simeon Jackson must wait for his Coventry debut after penning a one-year deal with the Sky Blues.

The former Norwich striker is not fit enough to play against Barnsley in their Sky Bet League One clash at Sixfields. He was a free agent after leaving Millwall following two goals in 14 games last season.

Danny Pugh is still sidelined with an ankle injury - as the club wait for results of a scan - with former trainee Ryan Haynes expected to deputise.

Bournemouth loanee Mohamed Coulibaly, who was an unused substitute on Saturday's 1-0 win over Sheffield United, could make his bow after shrugging off a groin problem.

Barnsley have slight concerns over midfielders James Bailey and Keith Treacy following the weekend win at Crewe, but both are expected to cleared to play.

Kane Hemmings is still absent after being injured in a pre-season match, George Smith remains sidelined too and goalkeeper Ross Turnbull will not be ready until the weekend at the earliest.

Academy graduates Paul Digby, James Bree and debutant Rhys Oates came on as substitutes over the weekend and Danny Wilson was full of praise for his young squad members.

The manager told the club website: "You've got to grow up quickly at this level. You've got to make sure you come to the party, because if you don't, you'll be bypassed and you won't know what's hit you, but they didn't. They saw the game out brilliantly at the end."
