Crawley Town vs Swindon preview - Crawley sweating on duo

Josh Simpson and Gavin Tomlin are injury doubts for Crawley ahead of the visit of Swindon.

Midfielder Simpson missed Tuesday night's extra-time win over Ipswich in the Capital One Cup with the ankle injury he suffered on the opening day, and striker Tomlin has been struggling with a hamstring problem.

Forward Matt Harrold is still recovering from a knee operation and youngster Bradley Isaacs has an ankle injury.

Goalkeeper Raphael Speigel should return to the bench having been ineligible in the cup under the terms of his loan from West Ham.

Swindon will make the trip to Sussex without Brad Smith.

The 20-year-old arrived on-loan from Liverpool last Thursday but was forced off in just his second appearance for the Robins with a medial knee ligament injury which will sideline him for a few weeks.

Boss Mark Cooper, who will look into signing a replacement for Smith, admitted he could play fellow full-back Nathan Byrne on the left flank but would rather find another option.

Louis Thompson will also be assessed in the build-up to kick-off after he had to be substituted in the 2-1 win over Luton in midweek following a nasty tackle late on.
