Real lose UEFA appeal - Xabi suspended for European Super Cup

Xabi Alonso will be suspended for the UEFA Super Cup final after the UEFA Appeals Body rejected Real Madrid's appeal against the UEFA Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body's decision.
The appeal that Real Madrid sent to UEFA stated that they deemed the punishment to be disproportionate to the crime, and that a more logical punishment would be a fine or a one-match ban in the Champions League and not in another competition like the European Super Cup.
The UEFA Appeals Body has accepted the UEFA official's report which clearly states that Xabi Alonso did run onto the pitch to celebrate the goal with the rest of his teammates.
