"That’s disgusting!" Girls react to Wayne Rooney’s weekly wage

Some of you will be crazy about the sport; I can confess to revolving a large part of my life around men chasing a ball around a field.

But even so, despite how familiar I am with the game, it is still baffling to hear about the salaries of top level footballers.

Wayne Rooney is arguably the most high-profile example due to his fame and the varying assessment of his qualities as a player; so he seemed the best choice for Talksport when they went on to the streets and asked random women, who we can assume aren’t overly familiar with the forward, to guess how much he earned by looking at his photo.

Manchester United had only improved his earnings quite recently, one of the last acts of the Moyes era was handing the England striker a five year contract worth £300,000 a week. Whatever your opinion of Rooney, it’s safe to say he’s not worth that money.

Each and every single woman was shocked when they heard his wage with one saying it was simply disgusting and that she actually felt sick thinking that he could earn that amount for the work that he does.
