MOURINHO MOVES: The Chelsea boss hopes to pip Real Madrid to the signing of Toni Kroos

It is understood Real bosses have agreed a £25m fee with Munich chiefs and Kroos will put pen to paper on a long term deal at the Bernabeu after the World Cup.

But new reports in Spain today claim the Blues have launched a late bid to rivals Real's and hope to persuade the German international to come to Stamford Bridge instead.

Marko Marin is edging closer to the exit door at Chelsea, with Frankfurt and Wolfsburg both keen to snap up the Blues outcast.

Frankfurt are understood to be leading the race and hope to wrap up a deal worth £6m.

He spent last season on loan at Europa League winners Sevilla, and admitted recently that he does not expect to stay in west London.

Young centre back Kenneth Omeruo meanwhile looks likely to leave Chelsea for a temporary move to championship side Middlesborough.

Boss Aitor Karanka is confident the young defender to return to the club, having spent spent the second half of last term at the Riverside.

Atletico Madrid have cooled their interest in Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku and instead turned their attention to Arsenal target Mario Mandzukic.

The La Liga champions were keen on the Belgian striker earlier this summer, and were pushing for him to be included in the deal that will take Diego Costa to Chelsea.

However, that failed to materialise, and now Diego Simone has turned his attention to Bayern Munich's wantaway striker instead.

Chelsea meanwhile have delivered an unintentional blow to their Premier League title rivals.

The Blues are raiding La Liga champions Atletico Madrid for their top talent.

It's left Atletico with cash to spend to beat Manchester United and Arsenal to the signing of Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic and now have the financial clout to compete with the Prem big boys.
