REINFORCEMENTS: Arsene Wenger wants to secure new signings for the 2014/15 campaign

The Gunners have been told the Magpies will not sell full-back Mathieu Debuchy on the cheap amid claims he is close to a move to the Emirates.

Reports in France the 28-year-old France defender, who is currently on World Cup duty in Brazil, will be heading for the Emirates Stadium this summer having also been linked with Paris St Germain and Monaco.

However, sources at the Tyneside club claim the rumours are premature.

Newcastle are understood to have placed a £12m price tag on a man who has four years remaining on his contract.

Barcelona will meanwhile demand £32m to allow Alexis Sanchez to leave the Camp Nou this summer.

The Spanish giants are willing to listen to offers for Sanchez and initially wanted £20m to facilitate his exit.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all held preliminary talks with Barcelona over a deal for Sanchez, while Manchester City, according to reports, were preparing to launch a £24m bid in an attempt to beat their Premier League rivals to his signature.

Arturo Vidal has given Manchester United a huge transfer boost by declaring he'd rather move to Old Trafford than anywhere else.

United's Premier League rivals Chelsea and Arsenal are also interested in bringing Vidal to England this summer.

But Vidal is prepared to reject the advances of some of Europe's top clubs as well as Arsenal and Chelsea in favour of a move to United.

Mario Balotelli's agent has denied holding talks with Arsene Wenger over a potential switch to Arsenal for his client.

The Gunners have been linked with a sensational £25m swoop for the former Manchester City bad-boy.

Balotelli, currently of AC Milan, is keen on a return to the Premier League after only 18 months at the San Siro.

Wenger poured cold water over suggestions that Arsenal were preparing to swoop for the 23-year-old.
