Marquinhos pushing for PSG exit

Dealings have started which could end up with Marquinhos coming to Barcelona. David Luiz's imminent arrival at PSG has fuelled hopes at Barca that they might be able to land one of Zubizarreta's long-time targets. Certainly, the player himself is smiling on the idea, as he has found himself taking a back seat and sees his chances of playing next season considerably reduced.

Marquinhos has indicated that he is quite prepared to leave PSG and feels grateful for Barcelona's interest. "If Barca are interested in me, then that is something which gives me a lot of satisfaction, and it is very flattering as Barcelona are a club that have won all the competitions in the world", he explained in the newspaper 'Le Parisien' .

He certainly feels affected by the signing of David Luiz. "When you see players like him coming in, you realise that things are going to be difficult for you. I know it, but I will work all the more".

During the past season the youngster has not had the degree of involvement he would have hoped for, and he does not want a repeat of that next year. His agents, Giuliano Bertolucci and Roberto Calenda, are planning to travel to Paris this week to talk to the club about their intentions. PSG have no intention of giving their player away to anyone, so the fee will be around.
