Lazio 3 : 3 Torino - Lazio snatch thrilling draw

Antonio Candreva's stoppage-time equaliser stole a share of the points for 10-man Lazio in a gripping 3-3 draw against Torino.

The hosts twice took the lead through Stefano Mauri and Candreva, only to be pegged back by goals from Jasmin Kurtic and Panagiotis Tachtsidis.

The dismissal of Diego Navaretti then swung the contest in Torino's favour, and they looked to have secured the win with Ciro Immobile's strike a minute from time.

However, Candreva's second of the match five minutes into time added on secured an unlikely draw for Edy Reja's men, although Inter Milan's win leaves both teams seven points off the European places.

In an end-to-end contest, Torino saw an early effort from Omar El Kaddouri miss the target before Luis Pedro Cavanda and Mauri did likewise for the Romans.

Diao Keita then fired wide of a post on the half-hour for the hosts, while Lazio goalkeeper Etrit Berisha pulled off a fine save to deny a left-footed shot from Riccardo Meggiorini.

Cesare Bovo gave Torino an almighty scare after 37 minutes when his free-kick crashed back off the crossbar before Stefan Radu's fierce drive from outside of the area was tipped over by visiting goalkeeper Daniele Padelli.

However, Torino's defence was finally breached two minutes before the interval by Mauri, who headed home from close range following Lucas Biglia's free-kick.

The Turin club were back on level terms seven minutes into the second half when Meggiorini's cross from the left wing was slotted home by Kurtic.

But Lazio regained the advantage on the hour when Padelli tripped Keita in the area, resulting in a penalty which was cheekily chipped over the keeper by Candreva.

Once again, Lazio failed to keep their noses in front and Torino pulled the scores back to 2-2 after 68 minutes. A corner kick found Tachtsidis unmarked in the area and the Greek midfielder finished with his left foot.

The drama continued 11 minutes from time with Navaretti shown his second yellow card in just seven minutes for a mistimed challenge on Matteo Darmian.

Torino sought to take advantage and they eventually succeeded with just a minute left on the clock, with Immobile slotting home what many thought would be the winner.

However, there was to be one final - and fitting - twist to what had been an enthralling match when Candreva stuck out a foot to turn in Felipe Anderson's strike from a yard out.
