Frank Lampard and Christine Bleakley were spotted out and about enjoying a lunch in Chelsea on Thursday with Jackie St Clair, Simon Cowell’s ex-girlfriend.

The happy couple have been engaged for three years and have revealed that a wedding is finally on the cards after the World Cup this summer.

Lampard looked relaxed and, ever the gentleman, was happy to take photos with fans ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Sunderland on Saturday evening.

The midfielder's considerable talents have been used sparingly this season and it will be interesting to see if he is picked on Saturday, as we may get an insight into Jose Mourinho’s plans for the Champions League tie next week.

Lampard has started eight of Chelsea’s 10 Champions League games this campaign but did not feature from kick-off at the Parc Des Princes against PSG last month where the Blues lost 3-1 - prompting debate over whether the 35-year-old will feature in the semi-finals against Atletico Madrid.

Mourinho’s side will be hoping for a confidence boost ahead of their match at the Vicente Calderon on Tuesday after a flat performance last weekend in the 1-0 win against Swansea.

The Blues will look to get a win against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge to put pressure on league leaders Liverpool ahead of their meeting at Anfield next week.

Mourinho will need to put out a strong side to see off the team currently propping up the table, as the Black Cats should be confident after restricting fellow title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.

Chelsea’s home record this season though is the best in the league with 15 wins and two draws, so a slip up seems unlikely, especially as Sunderland have just one point from their last six games.
