BLUES CAN DO IT: Desailly reckons Chelsea can do the business in Paris and secure their passage to the semi-finals

The former Blues defender thinks his old club can kill off PSG in the first leg if they emerge victorious from the Parc des Princes.

Desailly - who once played for PSG's rivals Marseille - insists the second leg at Stamford Bridge could be a dead rubber if Chelsea win tomorrow night.

The former France international said: "All will be decided in Paris. If Chelsea manage to score or succeed in Paris, I don't see Paris coming back to Stamford Bridge.

Desailly - who played over 200 games for Chelsea in a glittering six-year spell with the club - also claims all the pressure is on PSG.

He said: "We are all expecting something from Paris. Last year they lost the quarter-final to Barcelona.

"In France, every single person is expecting them to go through to at least to the semi-final to improve on last year.

"When you see the quantity and money they've spent, for the French league, it's amazing.

"The Champions League has the sweetness now. The French league doesn't attract them anymore. They've won it two times already, they really want the Champions League."

Chelsea travel to Paris with some stinging criticism from Jose Mourinho ringing in their ears after Saturday's shock 1-0 loss at Crystal Palace.

TOUGH PROSPECT: French heavyweights PSG will pose a host of problems for Chelsea

He insisted the Blues had blown their title chances with that defeat and threatened to put all his strikers up for sale unless they start performing.

Defender Gary Cahill admits Chelsea will be looking for a response against PSG as they aim to keep their Champions League dreams alive.

Cahill said: "We have to bounce back quickly. It hurts losing any football match and it certainly hurt at the end of the game because we knew how vital three points would be.

"For us to not get them is very damaging. It's massively disappointing, the feeling at the end of the game was horrible but all we can do is keep pushing and try to win our games.

"Mentally we have to be right. We have to be ruthless, go to places like Selhurst Park and do a job.

"We knew it was going to be a difficult game but we have to get the job done, unfortunately we didn't do that.

"There were times when Palace made it difficult for us, they played a lot of long balls and a lot of direct football but it's disappointing.

"We feel we had enough to win there and in previous weeks we created a lot more than we did against Palace."
