Ancelotti:

Gareth Bale was in the starting line-up for Real Madrid's game against Getafe. It was an easy 3-0 win for 'Los Blancos', but the Welsh player had left his shooting boots at home and went away the only member of the attacking trio that failed to find the back of the net.

Later, during his press conference, Carlo Ancelotti said that Bale had "lacked quality" against Getafe but had "quantity" instead. The Italian coach added that all he wants is for his forwards "to work for the team".

Both Benzema and Jesé did manage to score at the Coliseum. Talking about the Frenchman, Ancelotti said he asks the same of him whether Cristiano Ronaldo is there or not, adding with regard to the Spanish player that his performance is no longer a surprise: "He continues to consistently play really well and to score. He is important for us".

Ancelotti was also asked about the selection dilemma facing him in forthcoming matches when Cristiano Ronaldo is available again. When quizzed as to whether he would take into account Gareth Bale's price tag when deciding to start the Welshman or Jesé, the Real Madrid manager gave an emphatic response: "I'm a coach, not an administrator. Deciding between Bale or Jesé is a footballing matter, which is what really counts".
