Juventus vs Chievo preview - Conte calls for greater focus

Juventus coach Antonio Conte has criticised his side's performance in last weekend's draw at Hellas Verona and demanded a drastic improvement in Sunday's game against Chievo.

The Turin giants looked to be heading for their 20th win of the campaign after taking a 2-0 lead only to concede two second-half goals and have to settle for a point.

"I'm very unhappy that we conceded two goals against a team that created little," Conte said.

"We go 2-0 ahead, then concede a goal and start panicking. There's no explanation.

"We have to pay much more attention.

"I'm very unhappy that we lost these points because of a very serious lack of attention.

"This result should make us take a shower of humility, something which perhaps we needed."

Juve are nine points clear of Roma at the top of the standings, with the Giallorossi having a game in hand.

Victory on Sunday would allow Juve to start a busy week on the right foot.

The Bianconeri host Trabzonspor in the Europa League first leg last 32 tie on Thursday before hosting Torino in the city derby next weekend.

Juve are without striker Mirko Vucinic, who sustained a knee injury in training and will be out for two weeks.

Angelo Ogbonna is set to replace injured defender Giorgio Chiellini while Fernando Llorente will partner Carlos Tevez up front.

Chievo travel to Turin on the back of an eight-game winless run in the league.

The men from Verona fell 3-0 at Udinese to drop to 17th position, one point and one place clear of the relegation zone.

Chievo have not won since December 8 and have collected just three points since.

"We need to bounce back from last weekend's defeat and try to hand a good performance at Juventus," Chievo coach Eugenio Corini said.

"We are in a difficult position and we need to rediscover our winning touch."

Corini will be boosted by the return of defender Nicholas Frey and midfielder Ivan Radovanovic from suspension.
