SCHALKE chairman Clemens Tonnies wants Julian Draxler to reject the advances of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United and commit his future to the club.

The German club's general manager Horst Heldt yesterday blasted what he perceived as 'wild speculation' over potential moves from the Premier League trio to activate Draxler's £40m buy-out clause.

Reports this morning suggested Arsenal had offered Schalke £20m plus Lukas Podolski to beat Chelsea and United to the German international starlet.

However Tonnies remains confident of keeping the 20-year-old out of the clutches of a host suitors.

"I am of the opinion he should also be with us next season," Tonnies said.

"It would be my personal advice. He can play his best football without any big pressure and at our club he would have a clear mind.

"He is very much in good hands playing for Schalke 04. My general advice for everyone would be to stop making Julian mad."

Draxler, who has four-years left on his current contract, admitted late last year his desire to play for one of the best club's in the world.

Tonnies also revealed Schalke will not be forced to sell Draxler if the club does not qualify for Europe's elite competition.

"We would not be forced to sell Julian if we fail to qualify for the UEFA Champions League of next season," he told BILD.

"Our financial plans are not based on taking part in that competition. We could still sleep easy."
