Dumbarton will include new loan signing, St Johnstone striker Chris Kane, against visitors Morton in a key game at the foot of the Championship.

Aaron Barry's loan period from Sheffield United has ended and moves to bring Mark McLaughlin in from the Greenock side as a replacement are unlikely to be successful until after this game.

Goalkeeper Jamie Ewings has a groin strain and Scott Agnew is a doubt with a similar injury.

"Cowdenbeath's win at Alloa has brought an added significance to this game for both teams," manager Ian Murray said.

"It would be a terrific game for us to win and open up a 15 point gap."

Registration issues are stopping Morton manager Kenny Shiels back from making squad changes ahead of their trip.

Former Scotland striker Garry O'Connor is on the sidelines until international clearance is received from Tom Tomsk in Russia.

Shiels also hopes to tie up a deal for former St Johnstone player David Robertson however Brad Gascoigne, a new recruit from Corby Town, is not available.

Dougie Imrie is suspended with the fit-again Jonathan Page, Thomas O'Ware and Tony Wallace ruled out due to a lack of match practice with David O'Brien's shoulder injury ruling him out.

Shiels said: "I could end up with no strikers in very important game due to issues out of our control."
