Second-placed Dunfermline recorded a comfortable 3-0 win away to 10-man Airdrie.
Shaun Byrne opened the scoring for the visitors after 16 minutes, sweeping home Ross Millen's pass into the bottom-left corner.
Bottom side Airdrie were further disadvantaged on the hour-mark when goalkeeper Andrew Duncan received his marching orders after bringing down Byrne in the area.
But substitute keeper Jonathan Grier saved Jordan Moore's spot kick, getting down to his left to parry away with his first touch.
However, nine minutes later Allan Smith doubled the lead as he rifled home a right-footed effort hard and low into the middle of the goal.
Craig Dargo wrapped up the game in the third minute of injury time, slotting into the bottom left-hand corner from six yards out, and handing the home side a fifth successive defeat.
