Raith kept the pressure on Scottish Championship leaders Hamilton after scraping past 10-man Livingston 1-0.
The win was secured thanks to Gordon Smith's first-half effort and takes Rovers to within two points of Accies.
Smith was in the right place at the right time in the 21st minute when he coolly finished Liam Fox's cross and it should have been two 10 minutes later, but Calum Elliot saw his penalty saved by Livingston keeper Darren Jamieson.
The visitors' plight become worse just 60 seconds later as Danny Denhol was dismissed for a wayward tackle on Elliot.
But Livi put up a sterling fight after the break in restricting Raith and they could have even snatched a point, but Martin Scott missed the target from a good position.
