Rayo Vallecano vs Valladolid preview - Tito targets third win

Rayo Vallecano defender Tito has called on his side to build on their wins over Real Sociedad and Almeria with another success against Real Valladolid on Friday night.

The hosts have moved clear of the bottom of the table thanks to back-to-back 1-0 victories and another success over fellow strugglers Valladolid would put even more daylight between them and the relegation zone.

Those victories ended a run of six straight defeats and have revitalised the atmosphere in the home dressing room.

Tito told the club website: "It (the win over Almeria) was a very important victory.

"We were playing against opponents who were with us in a difficult position.

"We need to give importance to this victory because it meant we had claimed two consecutive victories, have come out of our losing run and go into the next match full of optimism."

As a result it is now opponents Valladolid who are more in need of a win.

They are two points worse off than the hosts nine games into the season, having failed to win in six matches.

Three of their last four have ended in draws, with the one defeat in that period coming at Barcelona, but boss Juan Ignacio Martinez knows it is wins his side need.

"We want to put a good streak of results together," he said.

"We have to exploit the weaknesses of our opponents and play our own game."

Midfielder Oscar is in line to return for Valladolid.
