Barcelona midfielder Andres Iniesta is close to agreeing a new deal with the Primera Division champions, according to club vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu.
The 29-year-old has spent his entire career at the Nou Camp, but recent reports suggested he could be tempted elsewhere as talks drag on over a new contract.
However, Bartomeu has moved to dispel those rumours and insists everything is on track for a renewal in the near future.
In an interview with BTV, quoted in Marca, Bartomeu said: "Negotiations are ongoing and both parties want to reach an agreement.
"Iniesta is one of the highest paid because he is the best player in Europe. The renewal will be the maximum permitted by law, five years."
The Spain international's current deal is set to expire in 2015.
