The Frenchman is a doubt for his team's midweek European fixture after missing out on Pep Guardiola's side's Bundesliga clash with Mainz on Saturday
Bayern Munich have revealed that winger Franck Ribery is a doubt for Wednesday's Champions League clash with Viktoria Plzen on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old has been a key part of Pep Guardiola's side this season but did not feature against Mainz on Saturday after the club's press officer, Markus Horwick, confirmed the Frenchman is struggling with his fitness.
"Bayern are without Ribery today!" he wrote on the Bavarians' official Twitter account. "Franck has a laceration of the capsule in the ankle.
"It's possible he will play on Wednesday in Champions League [but we don't know yet]."
Bayern have avoided the extensive injuries that Bundesliga title rivals Borussia Dortmund have endured this season, though the likes of Mario Gotze, Thiago Alcantara and Bastian Schweinsteiger have had varying problems since the summer.
