Zinedine Zidane believes Franck Ribéry deserves to win the Ballon d'Or but admits he could well miss out to Lionel Messi.
Zidane has offered his backing to his compatriot. The Real Madrid assistant coach told RMC: "I would give it to Franck for what he did this year and especially the three major trophies he has won".
"The problem is there is a guy who has scored 55 goals", 'Zizou' said about Lionel Messi.
The former Real and France international playmaker has rejected recent criticism of the Spanish outfit over their handling of Gareth Bale since he first arrived at the club, telling Sport360 in Abu Dhabi: "He's well integrated at the club and everyone has received him very well".
"He was lacking a bit of physical preparation when he arrived so it has been a bit delicate in the beginning with his physical state. The only thing that is lacking with his condition is that he hasn’t trained enough with the rest of the team".
