Inter Milan vs Fiorentina preview - We'll get better, warns Handanovic

Inter Milan goalkeeper Samir Handanovic has warned Thursday's rivals Fiorentina there is plenty of improvement to come from his side.

Both teams head into the encounter at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium unbeaten this season.

Walter Mazzarri's men swept aside Sassuolo 7-0 on Sunday to record their third win in four Serie A games.

The outcome left Inter level on 10 points with Fiorentina and trailing two points behind joint- league leaders Roma and Napoli.

"We hope to continue the way we are playing," Handanovic told www.inter.it.

"We are improving game by game. This is just the beginning for us but there is still a long way to go and we have room for improvement."

Inter, who travel to Cagliari on Sunday before hosting Roma on October 5, have the best attack in Serie A and one of the strongest backlines in the competition - the Nerazzurri have scored 13 times while conceded just once so far.

"It is the merit of the team and of our coach," Handanovic said.

"We are playing with much more conviction than with respect to last season."

Inter are trying to make amends for last term's disappointing ninth-placed finish that saw them miss out on European football this campaign.

Fiorentina, who are competing in the Europa League after ending last season in fourth place, travel to Milan inspired by Sunday's 2-0 victory at Atalanta.

The win was the Viola's second on the road this season and lifted Vincenzo Montella's team to fourth in the standings.

"We are going through a good spell," Fiorentina goalkeeper Norberto Neto said.

"It was important to win without conceding a goal. The victory at Atalanta was good in order to allow us to remain in the high positions of the table and to go into the game at Inter full of confidence."

The visitors are still without winger Juan Cuadrado and striker Mario Gomez, both out injured.

Fiorentina midfielder Massimo Ambrosini will replace David Pizarro, who is suspended.
