As the transfer window comes to a close, many teams are still trying to make last minute addition to their squads. It would seem that Spurs, who have already spent over €100 million in new signings, aren't quite finished yet.

According to the Daily Mirror website, Tottenham coach André Villas-Boas needs another striker and Javier Hernandez is very much to his liking. The Portuguese coach knows the Mexican is not happy with his lot at Manchester United, where he has gone from playing second fiddle to Wayne Rooney to find himself relegated to fourth in line behind Robin van Persie and Danny Welbeck. This situation has seen him relegated to the bench or even having to sit games out in the stands.

In spite of Javier Hernández not having settled in at United, his strike rate is pretty impressive. Since his arrival in the Premier League in 2010 he has scored 50 goals.

Another factor that impresses Villas-Boas is the Mexican striker's exemplary behaviour. Hernández has never been in the news for inappropriate conduct and is all smiles for team-mates, coaching staff and, above all, the fans. Daniel Levy, an impulsive negotiator at the best of times, tried his luck by making an offer of somewhere between £7-8 million, but United want to cash in on the player and have asked for almost double that figure.

With the World Cup in Brazil just round the corner, Hernández wants to play regularly to ensure he is in the best possible shape when the big moment comes.
