Restless Guardiola's 71-minute touchline extravaganza

German tabloid 'Bild' devoted part of today's front cover to the 71 minutes of almost constant movement by Bayern Munich manager Pep Guardiola during his Bundesliga debut against Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Guardiola was seen barking orders, celebrating goals and applying pressure – three snapshots of the manager on the touchline which represent his skills as a coach. According to the newspaper's stopwatch, he barely sat down during the entire 90 minutes of regular time.
The German media spotlight is currently fixated on Bayern's new manager, who has become the biggest star in the Bundesliga since he joined the Munich club, whether in press conferences or due to his characteristic gesturing during matches.
Guardiola got off to a good start in the German domestic competition with a 3-1 victory over Gladbach, although at the end of the match the manager admitted in statements to the public television network 'ARD' that he needs more time to put together all the pieces and get the best out of his players.
"Pep breathes new life into Bayern dugout," reported 'Bild', whilst the commentators looked closely for the first signs of 'tiki-taka' football seeping into the German club's traditional approach.
