Gareth: Let me Bale out! - Wing wizard wants out after £81m bid rejected
PLEASE RELEASE ME ... Gareth Bale wants to reign in Spain if he can quit White Hart Lane

GARETH BALE has told Tottenham chiefs: “I want to join Real Madrid.”

The Sun can exclusively reveal the Spanish giants have made an official world-record £81million bid for the wing wizard, which has been rejected.

Spanish paper Marca, which has close links to Madrid, claimed Bale was furious Spurs turned that offer down — even though it pips what Real paid Manchester United for Cristiano Ronaldo in July 2009.

Bale, 24, believes he has an understanding with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy that the club would accept a mind-blowing bid.

Marca claim Bale told Levy: “You made me a promise. You promised me if we didn’t qualify for the Champions League and a good offer turned up you’d listen to it.

“Well that offer has arrived and I want to play for Real Madrid. So keep your word and negotiate.”

Bale met Levy and made it clear he no longer saw his future at the Lane.

Relationships between the player and the board have become strained as Madrid continue to flex all their financial muscle in a bid to snare Bale.

Spurs boss Andre Villas- Boas claimed ahead of today’s pre-season game with South China that contract negotiations with the Welshman were ‘ongoing’.

Yet Spanish sources claim no such talks have taken place since 2012.

Bale missed Spurs’ Far East tour opener against Sunderland — and he is also understood not to have trained with the squad while they have been away.

AVB insists Bale has been rested because of a buttock injury but pals close to the double Footballer of the Year claim he is fit enough to play.

Marca also believe Bale had said he was not interested in a move to Manchester United.

However, there are doubts over this claim.
