Neymar: "It's a dream to play alongside the world's best player"

Neymar has said that he hopes his partnership at Barcelona with Argentine Leo Messi "makes history" and that his stint at the Spanish club is as "happy" as his time at Santos was. Neymar:

"It's an honour, a dream come true, to play alongside the best player in the world and that heavily influenced me when choosing my team in Europe", the Brazilian forward stated during a brief press conference after renewing his contract with the multinational Panasonic.

Neymar also hopes that Messi can pick up the dance steps that the Brazilian often makes up to celebrate his goals, which his old teammates at Santos and the Brazilian national team followed with entertaining choreography. "I'm a joker and everyone would love it if he joined in with the dance," Neymar said.

The forward also referred to the new era that his playing career has entered following his move to Barcelona. "I'm very happy, a new chapter in my life [has begun] and [it's] something completely new. I hope that I'm as happy here as I was at Santos and one day I hope to return," he said.

If he scores on his debut against Santos on 2nd August, the striker said: "I will celebrate, you have to celebrate just like when you play on a Sunday with your mates, but there is no malice or disrespect."
