BRENDAN RODGERS wants four summer signings to boost his bid to bring Champions League football back to Liverpool.
The five-times kings of Europe have not played in the continent’s top competition since 2010.
Boss Rodgers explained: “We have a small squad, so the key for us is to bring in three or four quality players that can add to the group, and keep us moving forward. We want to evolve. We are trying to improve.”
Liverpool are 10 points adrift of fourth place as Rodgers comes towards the end of his first season at Anfield.
He added: “When I came I knew it was a big challenge to get the club into the top four — it wasn’t going to happen overnight.
“This season was about trying to place a base.”
