Fergie still Suar over Cantona's Palace Kung-fu kick ban
FIGHTING FIT ... Eric Cantona kung-fu kicks a Crystal Palace fan in 1995

ALEX FERGUSON says Liverpool were right not to suspend Luis Suarez in case they got stitched up by the FA.
The Manchester United boss is still angry almost 18 years after he alleges the FA broke a deal he had made with them over Eric Cantona’s infamous kung-fu kick on a spectator.

Fergie says he had agreed to suspend Cantona for the attack at Crystal Palace in 1995 in return for no further action being taken by the FA.

And, asked if Liverpool should have done the same, he said: “I’m bet they’re glad they didn’t. It didn’t work with us, that’s for sure.”
Liverpool have been criticised for not suspending Suarez themselves for his bite on Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic.

But Ferguson believes they did the right thing after United suspended Cantona for four months only for the FA to increase that to eight.

He added: “The FA done us that day, we would never allow that to happen now.”

And Fergie admits he sees why Kop boss Brendan Rodgers is angry at the ban.

He said: “I can understand how Liverpool are aggrieved.”
