The 26-year-old has urged his side not to dwell on the impending departure of the Belgian, who has shone during his loan at the Weserstadion
Werder Bremen midfielder Aaron Hunt says the club must begin their search to find a replacement for Kevin De Bruyne.
The Beligan has shone during his spell at the Weserstadion but is unlikely to stay for another season, with parent club Chelsea eager for him to play for a bigger club.
"It will be a loss, but we cannot dwell on it. The fact he wants to play in Europe and Chelsea want that for him too is logical. I predicted it," he told Bild.
"Kevin has had a very good season with us, but now it is time for Werder to look for an adequate replacement."
The 26-year-old went on to stress that he is happy at Bremen with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.
"I am very happy with Werder. There has been a conversation with [general manager] Thomas Eichin, but I feel there is no hurry."
Bremen are currently 14th in the Bundesliga following their 2-0 home loss to Schalke.
