Napoli join Man City in race for Sampdoria star

Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis says Manchester City target Mauro Icardi is a star in the making - and has hinted at a summer move.

The Sampdoria starlet has scored nine in 22 league matches so far and City scouts are tracking his progress.
talkSPORT revealed last month that Napoli wanted the 20-year-old but did not want to get into a bidding war with City.
And De Laurentiis says the Serie A side are giving serious thought to going back in for the Argentine when the window opens.
"He's a potential star of the future," he said. "We'll certainly hear more about him.
"Napoli made a move, but we also take into account certain factors which other clubs perhaps do not.
"We are reflecting on our steps because to sign a player and then not give him the chance to play is the worst thing you can do."
