Late check for Trouten

Brechin manager Ray McKinnon will give Alan Trouten a late check before the clash with Stranraer after he sustained a leg knock in Saturday's 1-0 win over Alloa.

Craig Molloy remains sidelined with a knee injury as City look to use one of their five games in hand to cut the gap between themselves and second-placed Alloa to just four points.

However, McKinnon is taking nothing for granted and said: "There is still a lot of work to be done before we can think of getting into second.

"Stranraer need the points just as much as we do and they are one of the most improved teams in this division so it will not be easy."

David MacGregor remains sidelined with a knee injury as Stranraer look to keep out of relegation trouble by taking something from the trip.

Everyone else is available to manager Stephen Aitken who reckons his men are determined to win after not getting their just rewards at the weekend in a 2-1 defeat from Ayr.

Aitken said: "We made a slow start and were two goals down but then dominated the game. We deserved at least a point.

"I have asked the players to start where they left off and if they do that then we have a chance of picking something up.

"Brechin have done well recently but we have improved and are in with a chance."
