Fergie: I want Ron back
ALEX FERGUSON has told Cristiano Ronaldo to come back and play for Manchester United.

The Red Devils boss says if Ronaldo ever quit Real Madrid, he hopes Old Trafford would be the first place he turns to.

Ferguson said: “I’d love to see him here but, firstly, how much would it take to get him and, secondly I don’t think there’s any chance they would want to sell him. It’s fanciful thinking really.”

It may not be if Jose Mourinho leaves the Bernabeu this season, which is possible after he fell out with the club’s hierarchy.

Ronaldo’s contract runs to 2015 and Real would want £120million for the player United sold them for £80m in 2009.

Ferguson ranked Ronaldo alongside the world greats yesterday.

He said: “Great players, particularly forwards — Denis Law, George Best, Pele, Eusebio — they always take the ball no matter the challenges.

“There are different forms of courage and that one is the best one.

“You’ve got lads who will run through a brick wall but the courage to take the ball all the time is a fantastic courage.
“He always had that.”

Ronaldo, 27, will be back at Old Trafford, where he spent six years, in March with Real Madrid for the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 tie against United.

Ferguson joked: “The contract with Real says that he can’t play against us, seriously!

“It will be a disgrace if he plays. He has no loyalty!

“He’ll get a great reception when he comes on the pitch. After that they can boo all they like!

“The main focus will centre around Cristiano and, hopefully, we can get them back here with a good chance.”

Ronaldo still loves Old Trafford and Fergie and said: “If I score I won’t celebrate.
“I still talk to Alex Ferguson. I miss him, like I do Manchester United.

“I spent six great years there. Without them I wouldn’t have become the player I am today.”

And former United team-mate Patrice Evra added: “He has done some incredible things for Real but they didn’t show him the respect he deserves.

“When Ronny was here, he got the love from all the players, the manager and the fans.

“I always say I hope he will come back because this is his home.

“Ronny is the best in the world. He is better than Messi.”
