Real Madrid romp to victory while Atletico Madrid stay on the pace
Cristiano Ronaldo: Netted for an eighth consecutive game for Real

Cristiano Ronaldo netted for the eighth consecutive game as Real Madrid romped to a 5-0 success away at Real Mallorca on Sunday evening.

Both Ronaldo and Gonzalo Higuain scored braces as the La Liga giants cruised to victory over their midtable hosts.

Substitute Jose Callejon then added another in stoppage time to seal the rout as Real kept the heat on third-placed Malaga.

Atletico Madrid claimed a comfortable 3-1 victory at home to Osasuna to keep the pace with leaders Barcelona.

Radamel Falcao was on target again for the hosts with his 17th goal in his past 11 games for club and country.

He netted 17 minutes from time after two goals in four minutes just after the half-hour mark from Miranda and Raul Garcia had put Diego Simeone's men in a commanding position, with Roland Lamah reducing the arrears just before half-time.

Real Zaragoza secured only their second home success of the La Liga season as they saw off Sevilla 2-1.

The hosts netted two goals in 10 first-half minutes as Helder Postiga and Cristian Sapunaru fired home.

Sevilla managed a consolation goal 20 minutes from time as Gary Medel's volley deflected in off Glenn Loovens.

Levante made it four wins on the bounce in all competitions as they claimed a 3-1 home win over Granada.

Obafemi Martins scored a brace for the home side, netting a goal in each half to inspire the victory.

Pedro Rios then notched his third goal in four days with a tidy finish 17 minutes from time to complete Levante's haul, with Youssef El-Arabi pulling one back for the visitors late on.

Antonio Juan Rodriguez and Alvaro Vazquez were both on-target to help Getafe to a 2-1 victory over Athletic Bilbao.

Juan Rodriguez broke the deadlock with an 11th-minute header and Vazquez put the visitors firmly en route to three points with a close-range finish just before the hour mark.

Mikel San Jose halved the deficit in added-on time but his strike came too late for Bilbao to push for an equaliser.
