Sometimes when he is on the ball, he's too obvious to mark and defenders rush to him. But when he runs off the ball inside the full back, there is very little defenders can do to stop him.
No-one can live with him for pace.
He has dropped off England's radar recently but if he continues to play like he has at the start of the season, he will be back. He links really well with Walker down the right. And with Defoe linking so well as a lone frontman and Jan Vertonghen an impressive signing at the back, Villas-Boas will feel confident that he can succeed.
LET'S UNITE
At Reading last weekend, I almost felt I was at Anfield when fans sang You'll Never Walk Alone so loudly. It was emotional and typical of the country's reaction to the revelations about Hillsborough.
It is imperative that fans behave themselves tomorrow at Anfield and I'm glad Sir Alex Ferguson and Brendan
Rodgers have set the tone. Because of the 96 people who lost their lives, we now go to safe stadiums.
They deserve our respect.
