Man United 4 Wigan 0: Ferguson's old masters stir the young blood
Special guest: British Olympic taekwondo gold medallist Jade Jones was presented with a United shirt before the game

So just who is Alex Buttner?

He seems to have come out of nowhere, but Alex Buttner  is a veteran of several seasons in the Dutch Eredivisie.

The 23-year-old left- back made his debut for Vitesse Arnhem in 2007-08 - playing just one game - but over the next four seasons made 115 appearances, scoring 10 goals.

When the 5ft 8in defender signed for Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson described him as 'one of the best young left-backs in Europe'.

Buttner nearly signed for Southampton in the summer but the deal fell through at the last minute.
