Antonio Conte described his 10-month ban from football as "embarrassing" after his absence from Juventus' Serie A season-opener against Parma was confirmed.

The 43-year-old Juve boss was handed the suspension for his alleged failure to report two incidents of match-fixing during his time at Siena.

His initial appeal failed on Wednesday and he will subsequently have no involvement on matchdays as La Vecchia endeavour to defend their title.

He told juventus.com: "It's embarrassing. They have ruined my credibility in the changing room. Those people who know me know what type of person Antonio Conte is.

"I'm used to winning on the field of play. It's all absurd. Everyone needs to understand what has been done to me because it is embarrassing."

After going through last season unbeaten in the league, it falls to technical director Massimo Carrera to ensure the champions begin their defence with a victory.

Giorgio Chiellini, Martin Caceres, Gianluigi Buffon and Mauricio Isla are all injured but new recruits Kwadwo Asamoah and Sebastian Giovinco should play some part against the Crociati.

Attacking midfielder Giovinco scored 15 league goals for the opposition last season, registering the consolation for the Ducali as they lost this fixture 4-1.

Parma boast Amauri among their summer signings, the former Juventus man bidding to damage his old side alongside Dorlan Pabon up front.

Winger Raffaelle Palladino misses out but ex-Cesena man Marco Parolo should slot into midfield.

Playmaker Daniele Galloppa's suspension carries over from last season, which Donadoni's charges wrapped up with a seven-match winning run.

He told fcparma.com: "We have to start from zero in the table but also with different expectations because we've changed a lot.

"We are not dwelling on last year's results, that would be a mistake."
