MOD ROCKED ... midfielder has been put in his place by Daniel Levy
LUKA MODRIC has ended his one-man strike at Tottenham after chairman Daniel Levy made the wantaway star toe the line.
The £40million-rated Croatia midfielder, 26, turned up for training yesterday having refused to travel with the rest of the squad on their US tour.
Modric, 26, was hoping he could force Spurs into selling him to Real Madrid by making it clear he wanted no further part in their pre-season plans.
But Levy reacted angrily to Modric’s ‘strike’, fining him £15,000 for each day he missed training on top of an earlier penalty of around £80,000.
Real last night gave their clearest indication yet that they want Modric.
No 2 Aitor Karanka said: “Which club would not want a player like him? It is clear that he would fit in Madrid.”
