FRANK LAMPARD has joined the chorus of criticism of David Beckham’s Olympic snub.
The England and Chelsea ace believes Becks has earned the right to feature at London 2012 because not only is he still playing well enough but because of the work he did to bring the Games to the capital.
Lampard said: “After the way he was so heavily involved in getting the Games to London then yes I did think he would be playing at the Olympics. I know what Becks is like — he is so passionate about his country.
“I know he would have gone full pelt for Team GB.
“And I think his big personality and presence would have been a major plus for the squad.
“So it was a big surprise to me when he was left out especially after he was included in the initial squad.”
