Inter have offered Pazzini to Lazio as part of Zarate transfer, claims agent

The agent of Mauro Zarate has claimed that Inter have offered to include Giampaolo Pazzini in their bid for the Lazio attacker.

The Nerazzurri signed the Argentine forward on loan from the Biancocelesti last summer and although he initially struggled at San Siro, Zarate began to find his feet following the arrival of Andrea Stramaccioni as coach.

Inter retain the option to sign Zarate on a permanent transfer but the 25-year-old's brother, who is also his representative, has revealed that they are now trying to persuade their Serie A rivals to accept a player-plus-cash deal.

"This is a complete stand-by phase," he explained to Lalaziosiamono.it. "We have not yet had contact with Lazio or Inter.

"From what I know the two clubs have tried to reach an agreement by including a player who interests Lazio. Inter have offered Pazzini but there is a problem with the player's wages, which are quite high.

"The talks have come to a halt, but I'll soon have to talk to the two clubs to figure out where Mauro's future lies."

Zarate's sibling added that the departure of Edy Reja as Lazio boss means that a return to the Stadio Olimpico is now entirely possible.

"It's certainly true that without Reja, new scenarios have opened up," he admitted. "If the new coach shows that he wants to trust in Mauro, and there is a chance to respect the contract which binds him to Lazio, he could stay."

Zarate made 21 appearances in Serie A for Inter last season, but netted just twice.
