Fernando Torres: Has been called up to the Spain squad along with team-mate Juan Mata
Chelsea duo Fernando Torres and Juan Mata have been added to the Spain squad for their Euro 2012 warm-up matches with Serbia and South Korea.
The pair were initially left out of coach Vicente Del Bosque's 21-man squad along with players from Copa del Rey finalists Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao due to their club commitments.
However, after coming through Chelsea's dramatic UEFA Champions League final win over Bayern Munich on Saturday unscathed they have been added to the squad for two friendlies in Switzerland.
The reigning World and European champions take on Serbia on Saturday in St Gallen before meeting South Korea in Bern the following Wednesday.
Both Torres and Mata were members of Spain's victorious 2010 World Cup squad, while Torres scored the winner in the Euro 2008 final against Germany.
Villa and Puyol
"The national team coach, Vicente Del Bosque, has called up the Chelsea players Fernando Torres and Juan Mata. Both internationals will be join the squad on May 25 in St Gallen," read a statement on the Spanish football federation website.
The Copa Del Rey final will take place on Friday, with Del Bosque poised to name his final 23-man squad for Euro 2012 the following Sunday.
The main dilemma appears to be the selection of Barcelona striker David Villa, who is still recovering from a broken leg suffered in December.
Villa's team-mate, defender Carles Puyol, is almost certain to miss out after undergoing knee surgery.
