Cheryl Cole’s new style icon: Bertie Bassett

Pink 'n' mix ... Cheryl Cole
STRIPE me! Cheryl Cole could be taking style tips from Bertie Bassett in this liquorice allsort outfit.
Or maybe the Geordie lass, 28, wanted to show she’s in Toon with her roots, wearing black-and-white stripes like Papiss Cisse and the rest of her hometown team Newcastle United.
Adding a day-glo pink blazer and shoes to the garish jumpsuit beat even her usual pick ’n’ mix style.
The combination screamed “look at me” — but not in a good way.
The top-to-toe pattern was more Coco the Clown than Coco Chanel.
And the too-tight trousers clung to all the wrong places, giving an unflattering look both front and back as she prepared to jet out from Los Angeles.
It’s the latest fashion faux-pas for Cheryl, who was panned for her dolly mixture purple-and-orange outfit for the first day of X Factor USA auditions last year.
Hardly her sweetest look...
