CHEST THE BEST ... delighted Drogba whirls his shirt around his head
In the face of sniping criticism by Catalan media afterwards for Chelsea’s defensive displays, Di Matteo kept his cool.
He snapped back: “What I believe in is when you go through and when you win. We haven’t lost in two legs against Barca.
“We deserve to be in the final next month. We play a different style to Barcelona. I don’t think they deserve it, I think we deserved to go through.”
Ramires, Branislav Ivanovic and Raul Meireles were all booked and will miss out on the final in Munich along with the disgraced Terry.
His other two centre-halves Gary Cahill and David Luiz are both crocked and serious doubts for Munich.
But Di Matteo added: “We have a good squad which we’ve been using and I’m sure we’ll put a good team out.”
Striker Didier Drogba got down and dirty for the cause last night and sweated blood for the team.
He said: “We came here to qualify and we did it in a brilliant way, defended well and tried to score from the chances we had.
“The team spirit is always there but when you win you train with a smile.
“My desire is the same every year. I always want to win and I’m very happy to be in the final again. In eight years it’s five or six semis, it is a good achievement but now we have to win it.”
