Real Madrid have lodged a complaint with UEFA after star players had their boots stolen ahead of their Champions League semi-final clash with Bayern Munich.

Cristiano Ronaldo had three pairs nicked while Karim Benzema and Mesut Ozil, who scored Madrid's goal in the 2-1 defeat, were also victims of the Allianz Arena thief.

Some shirts were also taken from Real's dressing room before the game.

Mario Gomez's late strike handed Bayern the advantage ahead of next week's return in Spain after Ozil had cancelled out Franck Ribery's opener.

Madrid boss Jose Mourinho refused to criticise English referee Howard Webb despite a big offside shout for Ribery's opener.

He said: 'They scored a goal which should have been disallowed but that doesn't give me any reason to criticise.

'A draw would have been a fairer result. This is football, whoever scores wins and the game ends when it ends, nothing else.

'It's not a terrible result. We wanted to win, you start to feel it's going to be difficult, the two teams were tired, there was a lot of fighting for the ball and when it seemed it would be a draw, they scored.'
