East Fife 1 : 1 Stenhousemuir - Ferguson denies Fifers late on
Posted Saturday, March 31, 2012 by PA
Brown Ferguson's late penalty earned Stenhousemuir a valuable 1-1 draw at fellow play-off chasers East Fife.
The home side took the lead eight minutes in when Ryan Wallace curled in a right-footed effort from 20 yards.
Davie Irons' side almost responded with a long-range goal of their own just before the interval but Andy Rodgers' effort was tipped away by East Fife goalkeeper Michael Brown.
Stenhousemuir did earn a share of the spoils however when Ferguson converted from the spot nine minutes from time after Scott Durie was ruled to have handled in the area.
There was still time for more controversy as the home side were reduced to 10 men as defender David White was dismissed for a second bookable offence.
